The Story of the Piece

A striking late Mid-Century ring in 14K gold, centered by a richly saturated rectangular step-cut synthetic emerald in a smooth bezel setting. Created through the flux-growth process, the emerald reflects the era’s fascination with emerging gemstone technology; commercially successful flux-grown emeralds entered the market in the mid-20th century, with Pierre Gilson introducing his commercially marketable material in the early 1960s.

A halo of natural single-cut diamonds surrounds the emerald, while geometric split shoulders and clean lines reinforce the ring’s streamlined Mid-Century aesthetic. Combining innovative gemstone technology with traditional goldsmithing and natural diamonds, it captures the spirit of a period embracing both scientific progress and timeless design.
