The Story of the Piece
c. 1880s–1900s
A Victorian stick pin beautifully converted to a pendant, set in 9K gold with a light purple, lavender toned amethyst in a square step cut with rounded corners. The stone’s natural X-shaped inclusion appears to have influenced the orientation of the cut, while four gold granules create a subtle compass-like motif around the setting.
